About Tiger Tool

In 1984, a gentleman by the name of Mike Skoworodko founded Tiger Tool Co. Ltd. Having been the owner of a fleet of highway trucks at the time, Mike had been accustomed to providing his own maintenance.

Having used every means commonly known to exist in an effort to remove a seized universal joint (including jacks, hammers, and a cutting torch) on this day, Mike was once again faced with a driveline that could not be disassembled without creating damage to other components on the truck. As Mike leaned over the frame rails in total frustration, he thought to himself, "there must be a better way!"

After several hours of thought, Mike secretly began to work on a concept in the basement of his home. Many proto-types were created, and tested with various, sometimes disappointing results. However, through shear determination and perserverance, Mike invented, and patented the world's most effective, and popular Universal Joint Puller. He affectionately named it after his grandson, the "Mark"-1.

Tiger Tool Co. Ltd. "Tiger" commenced its humble beginnings through grass-roots determination. Mike, and his wife Anita, filled the back of their pick-up to capacity with new tools, and set out for several months across Canada. Calling on new, and heavy-duty repair facilities in virtually all of the major metropolitan cities across the country, Mike knew the success of Tiger was imminent.

Mike soon began to develope several other specialty tools directed at the Heavy-Duty Equipment Industry, and with attendance at several North American, and European tradeshows, sales began to soar.

Always thinking ahead, Mike at the age of 69, began to consider the future of Tiger. With sales well into the millions, and the need to expand into larger premises inevitable, Mike decided it was time to sell.

On August 1, 1996, Carlton International Marketing Corporation purchased the shares of Tiger Tool Co. Ltd. and changed the name only slightly, to Tiger Tool International Incorporated. Ken Jansen would become President, and the Managing Partner of Tiger.

Tiger Tool has established a fine reputation for it's design, and development of unique specialized tools to service the needs of the Light and Heavy-Duty Equipment Industry. In an effort to capitalize on the momentum that this highly successful company has already achieved, the successors of Tiger Tool have set out to increase sales through mass distribution, the creation of additional new, and innovative tools, strategic alliances with the manufacturer's of components Tiger tools are designed to work on, the highest standard of quality (both in terms of aesthetic appeal, and function) and most of all, service!
